Bruce Benerofe MD
Eye Physician and Surgeon
Dr. Bruce Benerofe is a Magna Cum Laude honors graduate of The University of Pennsylvania and The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.
He completed his internship at St. Lukes Hospital in New York City as Visiting Clinical Fellow under the supervision of the Department of Medicine of The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He then continued his sub-specialty training in Ophthalmology at Montefiore Hospital, which is the major teaching affiliate hospital of The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He trained extensively in the medical and surgical treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, cornea, external disease, diabetic eye disease, low vision, and other diseases of the eye and orbit and served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology during his final year.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Benerofe has practiced his specialty in the Morris County New Jersey area where he has been a Senior Attending Ophthalmologist in the Department of Surgery at St. Clares Hospital.
He continues to concentrate his expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of ophthalmologic diseases, including state of the art no stitch small incision refractive cataract surgery.
Over the years, Dr. Benerofe has taught the new techniques of laser, cataract, and intraocular surgery to many surgeons in training at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Benerofe is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of The International College of Surgeons.
